The SUV was globally unveiled in November 2020. It is available in two trims – Discovery and Discovery R-Dynamic, and three variants – S, SE and HSE.
On the outside, the updated Discovery gets matrix LED headlights, an optional panoramic sunroof and 19 to 21-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the SUV gets an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, head-up display, wireless charging, and 14 speaker 700W Meridian surround sound system. Optional equipment includes three-row heated seats, 4-zone climate control, and cabin air purifier.
In India, the Discovery is likely to be available with three engine options – two petrol engines and one diesel. 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive will be standard across all variants. The D300 variant gets a mild-hybrid powertrain with a 3.0L diesel engine producing 296 BHP and 650 Nm. The P300 variant gets a 2.0L petrol engine producing 296 BHP and 400 Nm, while the P360 variant gets a mild-hybrid powertrain with a 3.0L petrol engine producing 355 BHP and 500 Nm.
The SUV is equipped with Terrain Response, Adaptive Dynamics, ClearSight Ground View, and has a 900mm wading depth capability with Wade Sensing technology. Safety features include 8 airbags and a 3D Surround Camera.
The Land Rover Discovery will be available in 12 colour options including new colours like Lantau Bronze, Hakuba Silver and Charente Grey.
