Rumour: Jeep Meridian India launch by June 2022

The Jeep Meridian will take on the recently launched Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

According to a media report, Jeep is likely to launch the Meridian 7-seater SUV by June this year.

The Meridian is essentially a Compass with three rows of seats. It is also known as the Commander in some global markets. The SUV is likely to be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations.

In terms of its design, the Meridian looks similar to the Compass. It gets a slim front grille with LED headlamps at the front and a more upright rear fascia with slim tail lamp clusters. On the inside, the car gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit.

The Meridian is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. The engine is likely to be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The Jeep Meridian will take on the recently launched Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
