CSU men’s basketball pauses team activity due to COVID-19 – The Denver Post

The Colorado State men’s basketball program’s season has been put on pause before it even started.

Due to two positive COVID-19 tests within the program, the team will halt all activity through Dec. 2, the school announced Friday night. The two positive tests are the first for the program since players returned to campus in June, the school said in a news release.

The CSU athletic department will work with the Mountain West Conference on how the 14-day pause impacts the start of the 2020-21 basketball schedule.

Colorado State announced its Mountain West schedule for the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, with the Rams’ conference opener set for Dec. 3 at San Diego State. The first home game for the Rams is set to take place Dec. 28 when they play host to Fresno State at Moby Arena.

The Rams already have a nonconference game on the calendar with a Rocky Mountain Showdown contest against the Colorado Buffaloes on Dec. 8 in Boulder.
