Travel fan explains how to bag a city break for £42 including flights and hotel

An expert in nabbing bargain holidays reveals she has booked a three-night weekend break in a European city for just £42.

Chelsea, who runs the website Cheap Holiday Expert, shared the details in an Instagram video on Tuesday (November 9) and seemed pretty excited about what she'd found.

She says: "Forty-two pounds each! That's how much I just spent on a three-night weekend break (Wednesday to Friday) to Vilnius in Lithuania and that includes flights.

"The flights were just £10 and there are loads of these still available," Chelsea says as she shows the ticket value on the Ryanair website.

"As for accommodation, the Lithuanian tourist board are currently doing a deal where if you stay for three nights or more they will give you your third night for free up to the value of €65 (£56)."

Showing off a modern-styled hotel, she says: "You could stay here for £44.50 each.

"Or even here which looks well fancy for £62 each," she adds as she shows images of an upmarket hotel.

Chelsea adds: "That's the cost for three nights and flights!"

The bargain hunter then instructs people on how to get the code she used from the Lithuanian tourist board that gives them a free night in a hotel.

One viewer commented: "I loved Vilnius. Might be tempted into another trip with these deals!"

A second wrote: "Omg Chelsea! I am super excited for you to see Vilnius. It's nice I promise and us Lithuanians are not that bad either."

Someone else said: "Sounds like an amazing deal. I'd recommend a day trip to Trakai (about €2 each way on the public bus) to see the lake and castle followed by lunch and a drink at Kybynlar."

Vilnius is a medieval city and the Lithuanian capital and its old Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

Flights take 2 hours 40 minutes from London to Vilnius or 2 hours 50 minutes from Leeds to Vilnius.
