A total of 74 positive cases have been recorded on Martha’s Vineyard since last Saturday’s party. The figure represents more cases in any week since April and has led many bars and restaurants throughout the island to begin insisting guests wear masks again.
Hundreds of people attended the former US Democratic President’s party on the island.
The event – which featured celebrities including Jay Z and Beyonce – was followed with a Sunday brunch at Beach Road restaurant.
Guests dined under a specially-erected marquee beside the water in Vineyard Haven.
The left-leaning politician was criticised for letting it go ahead after cases of the Delta Covid variant continued to spike across the United States.
This led the ex-president to insist that he had disinvited everyone but his family and close friends.
Mr Obama even hired a “coronavirus coordinator” to ensure the party was compliant with all the relevant guidance.
But sources at the site later claimed that between 300 and 400 people attended the star-studded event.
And despite his apparent efforts, Covid cases have continued to spike across the island in a trend which was recorded before the party.

Island health officials say it’s still too early to know whether the hundreds of guests and workers gathered for the maskless parties have contributed to the surge in cases.
Maura Valley, a spokeswoman for Tisbury health agent and boards of health, told DailyMail.com: “At this time we’re not aware of any cases connected to the Obama party.
“It’s a little too early and the only way we’re going to know is through comprehensive contact tracing.”
In the week leading up to his party, 48 new cases were reported on the island, double the previous week’s total.
This figure has risen every day since then, with six on Sunday, seven on Monday, 10 on Tuesday, 13 on Wednesday, 18 on Thursday and 20 on Friday.
Several celebrities including Bradley Cooper checked in to the Harbor View Hotel where six staff members tested positive.
Even vaccinated individuals aren’t immune. Of the 48 people who tested positive last week, more than half were vaccinated, according to health officials.
“I wouldn’t have gone to the party even if I was invited,” one resident of Edgartown, who had a friend working at the party, told DailyMail.com.
“I’m sure some attendees went home with some extra luggage they didn’t pack or see. Stay tuned.”
