The BBC Weatherwoman has predicted that southern England will face the brunt of the changes in conditions as low pressure brings torrential showers. The high temperatures enjoyed during the week are to dissipate across parts of the country through northern England is tipped to enjoy sunnier weather. This weekend is to see the south of England experience cooler conditions amid some thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Ms Keith-Lucas told BBC Weather: “After a fairly warm and mostly dry day on Friday things are now changing with the weather.
“We have got some heavy rains has some thunderstorms moving their way in from the southwest.
“And through the course of the weekend, it is going to turn cooler and fresher with some downpours for some places.
“Particularly across the south.”

The metrologist explained: “That is down to the fact that this area of low pressure is pushing its way in and that is going to generate some really heavy downpours at times.
“Some showers, some thunderstorms as well.
“And if you do catch some of those thunderstorms they could bring some disruption to travel.
“Particularly across southern England and parts of South Wales.

“There is some risk of localised flooding,” she added.
“So as we head through Saturday morning then, initially the heaviest of the downpours will be near to the south coast.
“And they will slowly work their way northwards across the southern half of England and Wales as we head through the day.
“Some of them bringing some thunderstorms, some hail, and some gusting winds mixed in with those heavy showers.
“Further North across the UK most places staying dry with some warm sunshine.
“Temperatures around 26 possibly 27 degrees in the warmest spots towards the northwest.
“We have got some more cloud just lurking around that eastern coast of Scotland and northeast England as well.
The Environment Agency has active warnings in place for possible flooding in the London area for Saturday and Sunday.
