Bloodthirsty cartel thug jailed for 50 years for brutally dismembering teenager

An MS-13 gang member has been jailed for 50 years following the brutal death of a missing 17-year-old who was stabbed 100 times and dismembered.

Joya Parada was eventually jailed for 50 years after a three-month-long trial that found him guilty of racketeering linked to his involvement in the gang's shocking attack on then 17-year-old Irvin Orellana

This sentencing has come following a string of gang-related activity that has stemmed from the 2017 attack, reports the Baltimore Sun.

Capital Gazette reported that officials initially began searching for Orellana after he failed to turn up to court on gang-related charges related to when members beat a 15-year-old boy for refusing to join the notorious international criminal gang in 2017.

After a search that lasted months by the Anne Arundel County authorities, Orellana's body was eventually found dismembered in a park and, after an autopsy, it was revealed that he had been stabbed more than 100 times.

The murder is believed to be the work of a number of members of the La Mara Salvatrucha, more commonly known as MS-13. Prosecutors claimed in the court filings that Parada was a new member of the MS-13 gang at the time of the killing and was willing to murder Orellana in order to climb up the pecking order.

Orellana was believed to be "giving information to rival gang members through a girl" and as a result members decided to lure him to Wheaton Regional Park.

A memo from the trial said that members told Orellana "they were going to a party where there were girls". Parada, along with other gang members, dug a grave in at the park the same night as the murder.

When people arrived with 17-year-old Orellana, it's believed at least nine members of the gang stabbed and dismembered him according to prosecutors. Parada was just 16 at the time of the murder.

Parada is the most recent gang member to be sentenced in a federal racketeering case that has been brought against dozens of members of MS-13.

30 members or associates of the gang have been convicted since the US Court for Maryland filed this case following the start of the gang killings in 2016.

MS-13 is believed to be one of the largest criminal organisations in the United States according to CNN. It reported: "Over the years, members of the international gang have been convicted of a number of crimes across the country, ranging from racketeering to murder."
