Stoke-on-Trent's Longton Park has been closed off by police and forensics teams after the discovery of a body shortly after 8am this morning.
Details are sketchy at present, but emergency services have confirmed they are 'dealing with an incident' in Longton Park, on Trentham Road, Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Police say they were called to the scene at around 8.20am this morning.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman confirmed an incident was being "dealt with", but was unable to offer any more information.
One eyewitness who was in the park as it was being cordoned off this morning told Stoke-on-Trent Live: "I was already in the park when they shut it down.
"It seems to be something to do with the lake at the bottom of the park. It is swarming with police."
Another witness told reporters: "There are lots of police vehicles and an incident tent close to the lake area."
The entire park was closed for around half an hour this morning but police activity has now narrowed down to just the lake area.
