A teenage girl was praised a hero for shoving a bear off a wall in a desperate bids to save her dogs.
Hailey Morinico, 17, and her mother Citlally were gardening at their home in Bradbury, Southern California, when a bear and two cubs walked atop a wall at one end of the backyard on Monday afternoon.
The home security camera films the terrifying encounter which sets her pack of dogs off to lunge at the animals.
At one point, the mother bear tries to grab one of the smaller dogs and the canine's barking alert Hailey, who instantly rushes over and pushes the mother bear off the wall.
She quickly picks up the dog and run to safety.
Mum Citlally later shared the clip on Facebook and wrote: "My child just saved our dogs with super human strength.
"For me one of the scariest moments in life."
Hailey told local media KTLA: "I run to see what they're barking at, and it's not a dog – it's a bear.
"I see the bear, it's grabbing my dog, Valentina, and I have to run over there. She's a baby.
"And the first thing I think to do is push the bear. And somehow it worked."
The incident left one of the dogs with scratches and Hailey suffered a sprained finger and knee, Citlally added.
Friends and family commented on her post and said they couldn't believe Hailey pushed the huge beast off a wall.
One wrote: "Oh my God, that's scary!"
"Hailey, respect!" another chimed in and a third said: "I can imagine the feeling when you saw it, it's amazing."
"I'm glad she didn't get hurt," a fourth added: "So brave!"
The teen, however, advised: "Don't do what I did – you might not have the same outcome."
