Brits could be in store for a scorching 30C heatwave which will beat the previous record of the hottest day of the year so far.
The mercury is set to rise even more throughout the week after people soaked up the 27C sunshine over the weekend.
It could get hotter later on in the week with chances of a new warmest day of the year, according to the Weather Outlook.
The weather agency predicts there are signs of cooler air returning but balmy sunshine is on the way before that.
The UK saw temperatures rise to 24C yesterday, and the warmest day of the year so far took place on June 2, when 28.3C was recorded at Northolt in London.
But the figure could be beaten at the end of the week, with 27C predicted in Kent on Friday in early forecasts.
The Weather Outlook said: "There is a realistic possibility of 30C being reached in the UK for this first time this year before temperatures dip."
Brits flocked to the coastlines to soak up the sun at the beach as the mercury beat Ibiza who saw just 22C.

The hot weather is welcomed by families whose hopes of having a summer holiday abroad were cancelled following the latest travel list announcement by the Government.
Although the summer feeling has finally arrived after a washout May, some parts of the UK could be lashed with heavy downpours and hail.
Although the Met Office warns that next week Brits may see heavy and thundery conditions and a spell of unsettled weather.

And some rain showers may even appear today (Tuesday) amid the hotter temperatures.
Met Office meteorologist Becky Mitchell said: "Those showers could be quite heavy and intense, and thundery in some areas.
"However other parts of the country will see a relatively nice day."
Late sunshine is predicted to take over in the evening after the rainy spells throughout the day.
The hot weather is forecast to continue over the coming days, and Friday could mark the hottest day of the year.
A spokesperson for the Met Office added: "Temperatures are going to stay warm, locally very warm, throughout this week and into the next.
"A good deal of fine and dry weather across much of the UK for the end of June, although there could be a few showers in places and perhaps some rain in the far north at times."
