Coroner identifies two motorcyclists killed in Frederick crash

The Weld County coroner on Saturday identified two people killed when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a truck in Frederick.

Two motorcycles and the truck were involved in the crash on the Interstate 25 frontage road at Tipple Parkway about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Killed were Nathan Marrero, 25, of Firestone, who was operating the 2002 motorcycle, according to a news release from Coroner Carl A. Blesch. Marrero’s passenger, Laura Socorro Gamez Pineda, 24, of Aurora, also died.

Both were wearing helmets, the release said.

Two people who were riding the second motorcycle sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital that night, police said earlier. Frederick police and the State Patrol are investigating the crash.
