Denver weather: Sunny and warming up through the weekend

Denver is set for back-to-back sunny days with a high temperature near 78 degrees on Wednesday and a high temp of 83 degrees Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds should be mostly calm on Wednesday and gust up to 16 mph on Thursday.

Overnight lows on Wednesday and Thursday in Denver will drop into the low- to mid-50s, the weather service said.

Mostly dry and warm weather is in the forecast for northeastern Colorado where high temperatures will climb back into the 90s by the weekend.

The city will also heat up over the weekend starting on Friday with sunny skies and a high temperature of 90 degrees.

On Saturday and Sunday, there’s a slight chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms in Denver, the weather service said. Skies will be partly sunny on Saturday and the high temperature should top out at 91 degrees. Sunday’s skies will be mostly sunny and the high should hit 90.

High temperatures in Colorado’s mountain valleys should climb into the 70s over the weekend.
