Donald Trump ‘threw temper tantrum’ as US election results came in

Republican sources claim Donald Trump "had a temper tantrum" when he saw votes could start going against him.

Trump was reportedly furious and left in a state of disbelief as his early-night lead beginning to slip, a White House insider told CNN’s Jamie Gangel.

It was Joe Biden's results coming through in Michigan which Gangel's sources claim pushed America's president of the last four years, over the edge.

Gangel said: "A senior official who is normally an ally of the president said that Trump had a temper tantrum last night.

"That he saw that the numbers could start going against him, that he wanted to declare victory while he thought that he was ahead."

The reporter added that several Republicans had shared with her their disgust with the president's reaction.

Gangel continued: "The Republicans I spoke to this morning are not happy with him.

"Let me read three quotes from three different officials: The first person said, 'He is behaving as expected, badly.' The second person said that 'Trump is afraid of mail-in ballots' and the third person said that what he said last night was, quote, 'indefensible'."

Donald Trump has claimed victory in the 2020 presidential elections as he made a series of bizarre claims– and announced he was going to the Supreme Court to get vote-counting halted.

Trump started the press conference, which started at around 2.20am local time, by listing a series of states his team claims to have won – despite votes still being counted.

He claimed the Democrats had deliberately sent out mail-in absentee voter ballots in a bid to delay the announcement of any result.

The 45th President of the United States said: "They knew they couldn't win so they said, let's go to court.

"Did I predict this? Did I say this? I've been saying it since they said they were sending out tens of millions of ballots."

He added: "This is a major fraud. This is an embarrassment to our country.

"We were getting ready to win this election and frankly, we did win this election."

He went on to tell his assembled supporters inside the White House that he was going to the Supreme Court in a bid to get vote counting stopped.

There is no evidence of foul play in the nail-biting election and it is unclear exactly what legal action Trump might try to pursue.
