A professional flatpack furniture assembler rakes in more than £35,000 a year by completing tasks for the DIY-shy.
Mohammed Amin, a 28-year-old former delivery driver from Whitechapel, east London, became a full-time flatpack assembler and general handyman last April after providing the service as a side hustle for about four months.
He began doing odd jobs for people across the city, raking in thousands of pounds a month before deciding to commit to it full-time.

Less than a year later, he gets paid roughly £3,000 a month to put up sofas, tables and desks for around 30 hours of work a week.
The handyman says he quit his old full-time delivery driving job after making around £12,000 purely through the side hustle.
Now having completed more than 300 jobs since he started, Mohammed said: “Most of my jobs are a man in a van job, I am very hands-on.”
He travels across London in a van he bought shortly after he began working as a delivery driver.
"It came to the point where I didn't want to work for anyone,” he said.

"I wanted to get out there and get the job done. I quit my old job as I started to see that I can do more jobs and earn more doing what I do now compared to my old job,” he added.
Mohammed says part of his success is due to the fact that he only goes for jobs that can be done in a day.
He said: “Some jobs can take a few hours and some jobs can take 10 hours.

Mohammed works through the Airtasker app, which allows users to hire professionals at short notice.
He was named as one of Airtasker’s Top Taskers in 2022 for his work with the app.
