After five long days of deliberation, Ghislaine Maxwell has been found guilty by a New York court for the vile crime of sex trafficking a minor.
A 12 person jury found the socialite helped perverted-pal Jeffery Epstein get hold of young girls to be sexually abused.
The trial, which lasted a month, saw Maxwell face six counts and was found guilty for five. It is possible Maxwell, who is a British citizen, will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
Maxwell went into hiding in 2019 after financier Epstein was arrested in New Jersey. She was arrested herself by the FBI in July 2020 with her trial having started in November 2021.
She was accused of preying on young women and securing them for the depraved sexual abuse of her associate Epstein.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Ghislaine Maxwell is thought to have an estimated net worth of £14.8 million.
Much of her fortune is thought to have been acquired from her father, whose body was found floating in the Atlantic in 1991.
He had owned the Mirror Group between 1984 and 1991, but had faced rising debts and had skipped meetings with the Bank of England.
Money is something Ghislaine has spent a lot of time around. After growing up with a very rich dad she went on to hang out with other very rich people, including Epstein.
However, there remained confusion throughout her journey through the courts over how much she really had.
Last year, Time reported Maxwell's lawyers claimed she had less money than people thought.
However, it was found in December this year that Maxwell had been given at least £23.7 million by Epstein during the time they knew each other.
This was backed up by bank records shown in the trial which showed that from 1999 to 2007 the eye-watering sums had been moved across.

- conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts
