For the second time in one week Facebook and Instagram have gone down in a widespread outage, causing the internet to go crazy.
According to Downdetector, which monitors the status of websites there were 17,273 reports of Instagram being down at about 7:30pm UK time.
More than half (58%) of the reports had to do with the app while 23% related to server connection issues.
Facebook also appears to not be working for some users as 765 reports were received by Downdetector.
Around 60% had issues relating to accessing the website while 24% had to do with the app.
The incredible outage comes just days after a seven-hour global shutout which meant billions of users were not able to use the social media giant's platforms.
Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp were all down, leading to Mark Zuckerberg's company apologising for the disruption.
Facebook remained completely inaccessible, but users kept seeing an error page or a message telling them their browser couldn't connect.
Instagram and WhatsApp users were able to access the apps but were unable to see any new content, including any sent or received messages.

People have again flocked to Twitter to poke fun at Facebook for going down.
One user joked: "Facebook and Instagram down again, hi everyone."
Another wrote: "I wonder if Facebook has tried turning it off and on again?"
Facebook released a statement about the first outage, explaining it was due to "configuration changes on the backbone routers that co-ordinate network traffic between our data centres caused issues that interrupted this communication".
This had a "cascading effect… bringing our services to a halt".
Back in 2019, Facebook suffered a wide-spread outage and vaguely claimed it had "triggered an issue" during "routine maintenance operations".
