Jetski Romeo ‘splits from lover’ months after gruelling 4-hour trip to see her

A famous jet-skiing Romeo and his girlfriend from the Isle of Man have reportedly split up only a few months after they captured the hearts of the nation with their story of unbridled love.

Dale McLaughlan, 28, hit the headlines last December when he took a 25-mile journey from Scotland to the Isle of Man to visit his sweetheart Jessica Radcliffe, 30 during a national lockdown.

The amorous lover spent four and a half hours out at sea but was later was jailed for breaching coronavirus lockdown rules.

He served 10 days of his sentence before being let out three days before Christmas.

The couple have apparently called the relationship to an end after McLaughlan failed to gain Isle of Man residency status, reports the MailOnline.

And now McLaughlan has landed herself in a spot of bother after she appeared at Douglas Courthouse on the Isle of Man via video link on April 1.

She appeared in court after she was charged with causing actual bodily harm, causing criminal damage and breaching lockdown restrictions.

According to the Daily Record, Radcliffe and her friend Leanna Bradley, 33, are accused of driving to the house of a woman they had a feud with, forcing their way in and breaking the alleged victim's iPhone before attacking her.

The two accused women were bailed for £500 and are yet to enter their pleas.

The story of Dale's crossing drew comparisons with the "Labours of Hercules" due to the difficulty of the task at hand in December.

Dale was not a competent swimmer and only made it to the Isle of Man with around 10 minutes of fuel left in the tank.

It is understood that he thought the journey would only take around 40 minutes after setting off from Scotland in treacherous conditions.

Once he arrived back on land on December 11, Dale still had to trek 15 miles to see Jessica. He was arrested only two days later on Sunday, December 13, at Radcliffe's home.

After Dale’s daredevil stunt, girlfriend Jessica said she would love to be his bride.

The mum-of-two told The Sun at the time: "People from Italy have sent pictures of jet skis saying, 'This is for your boyfriend, showing our support.'
