Man beaten and stabbed by gang with ‘foot-long blades’ in Hyde Park attack

This is the shocking moment a man was chased by a group of assailants who beat and stabbed him with long blades in a London park.

Footage shared on social media shows a man in black top falling on the ground in Hyde Park before the thugs viciously kick and punch him in the head.

Some men pull out long blades and machetes and appear to stab him in the midriff as the crowd look on in horror.

One woman can be heard screaming: "He got stabbed! There’s a knife, there’s a knife! Oh my God, oh s***, oh God oh God."

The victim lies on the ground motionlessly on his back as the group flees the scene.

Another clip, posted on Snapchat, shows several police officers tending the victim and checking on his condition.

The public is asked to maintain social distancing while they carry the man to an ambulance.

He was rushed to a central London hospital and police said last night they believed he would survive.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "Police were called at 21:00hrs on Tuesday 1 June to reports of an assault in Hyde Park.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. They found a male suffering from stab injuries.
