A dedicated airline worker has made a public announcement over his resignation after being marked as "15 minutes late for work".
Video of the man's announcement went viral after TikToker Jess shared it on her account on Thursday and called it "the most savage way to quit a job".
In the clip, the employee stands in front of a concierge desk with a logo of Southwest Airlines and says: "Hi guys, my name is Gregory Watkins, and I’ve been with the company for ten, well, next month with make it ten years."
While his colleagues give him a round of applause in the office, he continues: "So last week, I had an occurrence for a 15-minute tardy.
"I asked for 15 minutes, they say like 'no'. I gave y’all ten years of my life, and y’all can’t give me 15 minutes?
"So I’m just here to say, 'f*** y’all, I quit', and I better get my bonus check too."
Jess claimed she didn't know Gregory in person but she commented: "He didn't do this just because of one thing. I'm sure he was dealing with more than that 15 minutes."
One viewer wrote: "This is my co-worker Greg, yes I was at work that day! He is very quiet, very kind, this was very shocking and very memorable."
Some also agreed that there were other underlying issues that prompted Greg's resignation but they suggested that he should resign after getting his bonus pay.
A man said: "Don't quit! Let them fire you bro, get your bonus and unemployment (benefits)."
A second added: "You give value for 10 years and they probably underpaid him. Stop settling for less than what you're worth."
"This ain't savage! He can't get unemployment (benefits) now," a third pointed out.
Daily Star contacted Southwest Airlines for comment.
