Dramatic footage of the moment Merseyside Police arrested a suspect in the murder of 26-year-old Elle Edwards has been released.
Beautician Elle Edwards died after she was shot in the head in a pub on Christmas Eve. Four other men were injured, one seriously.
New footage released today (December 29) show police cars surrounding a residential street where a suspect was arrested.
It shows several officers approaching the front door of a house, while a second clip sees them at the back, running down an alleyway.
A third officer is then seen putting someone into a police car.
CCTV from a local shop captured the sound of the fatal shooting with the gunman firing three series of shots from what sounds like an automatic pistol.
Seconds later people start passing the camera fleeing the crime scene – one young woman in tears.
As pub goers at the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey, Wirral, tried to save Elle’s life the gunman fled in a dark coloured A-Class Mercedes.
Police continued to question a 30-year-old man who was arrested in Tranmere on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and a 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Four men who also suffered gunshot wounds, including a 28-year-old who is continuing to receive medical treatment in hospital but is no longer in a critical condition.
Police and local councillors said people should not “stay quiet” or “sit in silence” if they have useful knowledge about Elle’s murder.
Cops have confirmed three people had been arrested in connection with the 26-year-old's murder.
A 30-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. A 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
A 31-year-old man from Tranmere has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
All three remain in custody for questioning.
The investigation is ongoing.
