Four university students who were brutally murdered in a frantic bloodbath at their Idaho home may have been too scared to scream for help, an expert has claimed.
The chilling revelations come after online sleuths linked the horrifying killings – that one cop said was “the worst crime scene” he had ever seen – to a grim incident where a pet dog was killed and had its skin removed.
Internet detectives said the gruesome attack against the canine took place just two miles away from where two of the murder victims were last seen.

The deceased students, named as 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, 21-year-old Madison Mogen, 20-year-old Xana Kernodle and 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves, were found dead with their blood oozing through the walls on November 13.
Cops said the murder tool was thought to be an "edged weapon" – but they are yet to find it, and have not made any arrests.
Officers have also not yet made an official link between the killings and the grim dog skinning, reports Mail Online.
Amid the ongoing investigation, a former cop revealed that the murdered students may have been too terrified to cry out as they were stabbed to death in their beds.

Ex-LAPD Detective Mark Fuhrman told Fox News Digital: “People aren't talking when they are focused on not dying. That doesn't disturb me too much. It's not TV.
“You might say something at first, but then you're focused on stopping the attack.”
Cops said they are processing almost 500 tips that could help their investigation and 38 interviews have been carried out with people who may have useful information.

A chilling photo taken just before the senseless tragedy showed the pals stood together in the porch of a house with their arms around each other.
University President Scott Green gushed: “We are all still working though our grief and a range of emotions.
"Compounding this is the frustration and concern that no one has been arrested for these crimes.”
