Princess Beatrices name was changed after Queen didnt like first choice

Princess Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson waited two weeks before making her name public, according to a royal insider.

Fergie had her heart set on naming her daughter Princess Annabel, but Her Majesty's feedback, apparently, was that the name was too "yuppie" for a royal reports The Sun.

However the Queen is thought to have suggested Beatrice, after taking inspiration from the name of Queen Victoria's youngest daughter, and the rest is history.

Normally the Queen doesn't have any issues with the name suggestion, but it's believed that she wasn't sure when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson shared their idea after welcoming their first child in August 1988.

Prince George's full name is George Alexander Louis.

His first name is thought to be a tribute to Prince William's great-grandfather – King George VI.

He took George as his regnal name when he became king after his brother's abdication, but his full name was Albert Frederick Arthur George and he was known as Bertie to his family.

Louis is likely a tribute to Lord Louis Mountbatten, the Duke of Edinburgh's uncle and the last British Viceroy of India before independence in 1947.

Princess Charlotte's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana – with nods to both the Queen and William's mum.

Louis is yet another nod to Lord Mountbatten, and his middle names are Arthur – which he shares with his dad – and Charles, after the Prince of Wales.
