Queen has ‘put Harry and Meghan drama aside’ and is ‘overjoyed’ at baby news

The Queen is "overjoyed" after the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter and has "put the drama from the interviews aside", a source has claimed.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday, June 4, and is now settling in at home with the Duchess of Sussex.

She and Harry said they felt “blessed” and thanked fans for their “love and prayers”.

Her Majesty is also said to be delighted with the latest addition to the Royal Family.

A source told In Touch: “The Queen was one of the first people Harry and Meghan told about the birth and they’ve sent her photos.

“She has put the drama from the interviews aside and is overjoyed to be a great-grandmother again.”

Back in March, Harry and Meghan’s dramatic interview with Oprah Winfrey was broadcast.

In a later podcast, the duke compared growing up in the Royal Family to“a mixture between The Truman Show and being in a zoo”.

Harry also said dadPrince Charles“suffered” due to his upbringing by the Queen andPrince Philip, and then “treated me the way he was treated”.

Royal author Phil Dampier believes the couple may be “trying to undo some of the damage” on the monarchy with their choice of names.

Lilibet is the Queen’s favourite nickname, and the child’s middle name is a tribute to Harry’s mum Princess Diana.

Mr Dampier – who wrote Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words – told The Sun: “I suspect Harry and Meghan have realised they’ve overdone their criticism in recent months and the penny has dropped that they’ve caused deep hurt to Harry’s gran and other family members.”

Their son Archie is already getting along with Lilibet and getting to know her at home.

A source told US Weekly: “Archie absolutely adores his little sister and gives her lots of kisses. He’s held her with the help of his parents.”

Lili was born almost a month before Harry's mum Diana would have celebrated her 60th birthday on July 1.
