Two high schools graduations and a festival set for Red Rocks Amphitheatre this weekend will not longer be happening at the venue due to the incoming snowstorm to the Denver area.
Chatfield High School was scheduled to graduate at 2 p.m. Friday at Red Rocks, while Columbine High School was scheduled at 7 p.m.. Both schools have moved their graduations indoors to the Denver Coliseum, as the region braces for up to 6 inches of snow.
The cold front is dropping temperatures in the region to a high of only 42 degrees, with winds gusting up to 18 mph. Snow and rain are expected to hit the Front Range by mid-day.
Red Rocks has already hosted several graduations this week, including Mountain Vista High School and Castle View High School on Wednesday. Bear Creek High School and Dakota Ridge High School had graduations at the venue on Thursday, while Evergreen High School had their graduation at Red Rocks on Friday morning before the snow is expected to come in.
The Global Dub Festival, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the amphitheater has been canceled due to the weather.
