Royal experts have spotted a link between Lilibet’s birthday and the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations and reckon it would be a good opportunity for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to visit the UK.
This year, the Queen will mark 70 years on the throne, becoming the first British monarch to reach the historic milestone.
While the public’s attention will be largely on Her Majesty, there has been speculation over whether Harry and Meghan will visit the UK for the festivities, after their acrimonious royal split last year.
And, speaking on the Royally Us podcast, royal experts have noticed a link between the Queen and her great-granddaughter, which would make the Jubilee an opportune time for the family to celebrate together.
“Buckingham Palace has announced the long list of commemorative events and initiatives for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, which is taking place this June,” Christina Garibaldi observed.
“Her 70-year reign will be celebrated over a long four-day weekend starting on June 2.”
Some of the events listed include a baking competition, a birthday parade, and a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral.
And, with a huge party at Buckingham Palace scheduled for June 4, Christina also acknowledged that this is the same date as Harry and Meghan’s youngest child Lilibet’s birthday.
“The weekend happens to be over Lilibet’s first birthday, so hopefully the whole family will make the trip over to London to celebrate not only the Platinum Jubilee but this little one’s first birthday as well,” she suggested.
The podcast’s other host, Christine Ross, agreed that this might offer an opportunity for both families to move on from their alleged falling-out.

She added: “It would really be a good showing for them as a family to come together to celebrate both the Queen and Lilibet together. I think it would just go a long way for their relations as family.”
This comes as another royal commentator claimed that a picture of Prince George, showing him alongside the Queen, Prince William, and Prince Charles, was a “a wake-up call” for harry and Meghan that they would not be “royal superstars”, shortly before they stepped back from royal duties in early 2020.
