A flat in London has been listed for £800k with an surprising indoor swimming pool the crowning jewel of the miniature second floor home.

With temperatures in the UK already reaching 40C today, in what is the highest temperature ever recorded in the country, millions of Brits suffering with the intense heat are struggling to find some sort of comfort.

While some have resorted to putting their bedsheets in the freezer or covering themselves with ice packs, the best option would probably be a swimming pool.

Londoners could be in luck, should they have a spare £800k lying about, as a two-bedroom flat in North London has gone on the market with a large indoor swimming pool.

Sitting next to a Chinese takeaway in Archway – the two-bedroom flat has a "trendy open plan reception" and "chic kitchen".

The large swimming pool is just off the living room with the flat also housing a steam and sauna room in a space encompassing just 1,271 sqft.

While the facilities within the flat are its selling point, the location of the Hornsey Road flat is certainly advantageous with both Crouch Hill and Upper Holloway stations within walking distance alongside being near several popular bars and restaurants.

The listing says: "Flat arranged over the ground and lower ground floors. Trendy open plan reception and kitchen with a feature glass floor.

"Second bedroom with fitted wardrobes. Modern bathroom and WC. Private swimming pool, sauna and steam room on the lower ground floor.
