The 2024 Toyota Tundra pickup truck rumbles into the new year with a Nightshade black trim package as well as new TRD off-road features, Toyota announced last week. Even without any changes, the 2024 Toyota Tundra gets a price increase of at least $1,055, and the top Capstone model caps pricing at $80,695, which is $1,200 more than the 2023 Tundra.

Pricing includes a $1,850 destination fee that increased $55 on August 1.

The new Nightshade package available only on the $53,705 Limited model applies the black treatment on 20-inch wheels and on the fenders, grille, side mirrors, and badging for an extra $450.

Another new development for 2024 is a factory-installed 3.0-inch lift kit for TRD grades. That increases the max ground clearance to 12.4 inches.

The third development is Platinum four-wheel-drive models can be fitted with the TRD Off-Road package for $2,105 extra. The package swaps in 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, extra skid plates, mud guards, an electronically controlled locking rear differential, crawl control, and a surround-view camera system.

Otherwise, the 2024 Toyota Tundra mostly carries over from when the third-generation pickup truck was redesigned for 2022. It can be had with either a a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 389 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, or a hybrid option that combines the same V-6 with an electric motor for a total of 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. The engines pair with a 10-speed automatic and the Tundra tries to keep pace with segment leaders turning to hybrid and full battery electric trucks such as the Ford F-150.

Rear-wheel drive is standard, but four-wheel drive adds $3,000 except on TRD Pro and Capstone models where it is standard. Depending on the configuration, towing capacity is a maximum 12,000 pounds.

The Tundra comes with either a four-door extended cab or crew cab that’s about $1,780 more, depending on the bed size. The base SR comes with either the extended cab (Toyota calls it a Double Cab) with a 6.5-foot bed for $41,815, but opting for the 8.1-foot long bed adds $330. The 2024 Tundra SR costs $1,055 more than last year’s model. Switching to an SR crew cab with the 5.5-foot bed costs $43,865 this year.

Only the SR and SR5 can be had with the extended cab and long-bed configuration. On Limited, Platinum, and the 1794 Edition, a 6.5-foot bed can be paired with the crew cab for $330 more than the 5.5-foot bed standard with crew cab Tundras.

Opting for the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain on Limited, Platinum, or the 1794 Edition adds $3,720 on Limited grades, but $3,930 on Platinum models. The hybrid only comes with a crew cab, but shoppers can opt for the 6.5-foot bed.

The top TRD Pro only comes with the hybrid, four-wheel drive, crew cab, and short bed, for $73,980. Much is the same for Capstone, except the 6.5-foot bed is standard and the price reaches $80,695.

Built in San Antonio, Texas, the 2024 Toyota Tundra is on sale now.
