{"id":117193,"date":"2023-08-29T09:50:52","date_gmt":"2023-08-29T09:50:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogcamlodipine.com\/?p=117193"},"modified":"2023-08-29T09:50:52","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T09:50:52","slug":"renault-duster-awd-costs-incurred-over-5-years-70000km-of-ownership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogcamlodipine.com\/auto-news\/renault-duster-awd-costs-incurred-over-5-years-70000km-of-ownership\/","title":{"rendered":"Renault Duster AWD: Costs incurred over 5 years &#038; 70,000km of ownership"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The SUV turns 5 in September, so two big expenses are due this month.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>BHPian Samba<\/strong> recently shared this with other enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p>Got the 70,000 km (8th) service done with a current odo reading of 69,150 km<\/p>\n<p>This was just a routine service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parts replaced:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engine oil (Mineral)<\/li>\n<li>Oil Filter<\/li>\n<li>Ac Filter<\/li>\n<li>Air filter<\/li>\n<li>General checkup<\/li>\n<li>Diesel filter (This was not a scheduled change, Renault, suggests changing it every 20,000 km, but as we know the 110 ps Duster is sensitive to bad fuel, so I change it every 10,000 km)<\/li>\n<li>Two under-body protection clamps came off during an off-road drive. Got them replaced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total Damage to pocket- Rs 10,668<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The car will turn 5 on 1st September. So another two big expenses are due this month. One will be the 5th year Road tax which will be roughly Rs 71,000, &amp; the other will be the insurance which should be around Rs 16,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A detailed break-up of the expenses to maintain the car during these 5 years:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st free service (2,000 km)- Rs 45<\/li>\n<li>2nd free service (10,000 km)- Rs 5864<\/li>\n<li>3rd Free Service (20,000 km)- Rs 9343<\/li>\n<li>4th Service (30,000 km)- Rs 9289<\/li>\n<li>5th Service (40,000 km)- Rs 27,373 (Unscheduled replacements: Diesel filter, &amp; rear shock-absorber for both sides.)<\/li>\n<li>6th Service (50,000 km)- Rs 23,300 (Unscheduled replacements: Brake pads, brake shoes, Tappet cover, wiper blade, underbelly protection clamp, Diesel filter)<\/li>\n<li>7th Service 60,000 km)- Rs 21,327<\/li>\n<li>8th Service (70,000 km) &#8211; Rs 10,668 (Unscheduled replacements: Underbelly protection clamps, Diesel filter)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total- Rs- 107,209<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The unscheduled visits to the service centre:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Running repair- Rs144<\/li>\n<li>Running Repair- Rs 3088<\/li>\n<li>Running Repair- Rs 144<\/li>\n<li>Running Repair- Rs 4,881<\/li>\n<li>Running Repair- Rs 687<\/li>\n<li>Running repair- Rs 2925<\/li>\n<li>Running Repair- Rs 3030<\/li>\n<li>Running repair- Rs 911<\/li>\n<li>Running Repair- Rs 1003<\/li>\n<li>Running repair- Rs 4875<\/li>\n<li>Body Shop- Rear Bumper Paint- Rs 4012<\/li>\n<li>4 Tyres- Rs 29,000<\/li>\n<li>1 new Battery &#8211; Rs 6,200<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total- 60,900<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Running repair includes parts like :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Front brake pads- Twice<\/li>\n<li>Rear brake shoes &#8211; Once<\/li>\n<li>4 Glow plugs<\/li>\n<li>Turbo Hose O ring<\/li>\n<li>Tappet cover<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Parts changed under warranty (FOC):<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Injectors, when they failed in quick succession during the initial days.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After changing the engine wiring harness, &amp; dashboard wiring harness, Renault again proactively changed all 4 injectors together.<\/li>\n<li>Reason- Consecutive injector failures during the first 36,000 km.<\/li>\n<li>Status- Solved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fuel tank, float, Cluster meter<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reason- Erratic fuel meter behaviour.<\/li>\n<li>Status- Solved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EGR, head gasket, Radiator &amp; hose.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reason- Renault ASS was clueless to find the actual reason for coolant consumption.<\/li>\n<li>As a trial and error, they changed so many parts.
