Aides said the Tory leader\u2019s visit will be a \u201cpowerful reminder of the living bridge which exists between our two countries\u201d.<\/p>\n
A No10 spokesman added: \u201cBuilding a strong global economy is at the heart of the Prime Minister\u2019s priorities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe cannot reduce inflation, create jobs and grow our economy without working closely with other major economies.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Prime Minister will use the G20 summit to lead a global conversation on bringing down inflation further, increasing economic security and harnessing technologies of the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Prime Minister will be pushing the priorities of the British people, from \u00adtackling the challenge of global migration to multilateral issues.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Sunak is expected to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bilateral talks, with officials not ruling out the \u00adpremiers discussing progress on a UK-India free trade agreement.<\/p>\n
London and New Delhi had a \u00a336billion trading relationship in 2022-2023 but Mr Sunak is keen to finalise an economy-boosting post-Brexit deal with the country that has a population of 1.4 billion.<\/p>\n
His spokesman said: \u201cThe Prime Minister is committed to concluding a free trade agreement with India which delivers for the British people.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said the G20 was not designed as a moment for the free trade agreement \u00adspecifically, with attention on other geopolitical issues.<\/p>\n
The spokesman added: \u201cAt the forefront of his mind is achieving what is in the best interests of the British public. That is what he will be going to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n
Climate change, food security and \u00admigration are also set to be key topics at the meeting of world leaders.<\/p>\n
Russian despot Vladimir Putin has opted not to attend the New Delhi gathering in person but his foreign minister Sergei Lavrov is expected to turn up.<\/p>\n
Mr Sunak\u2019s official spokesman said there was \u201cno set moment\u201d for the British PM and Mr Lavrov to meet.<\/p>\n
But he said the Prime Minister will \u201cuse any opportunity in sessions to remind Mr Lavrov to his face about the incredible damage their illegal war is causing, both in Ukraine and globally\u201d. Mr Sunak is set to meet with other world leaders on the fringes of the summit, including the prime ministers of Singapore and Mauritius.<\/p>\n
The itinerary for Mr Sunak, who is a practising Hindu, has him visiting Indian cultural and religious sites with a trip to a Hindu temple planned for his visit.<\/p>\n
