{"id":117919,"date":"2023-09-13T12:10:48","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T12:10:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogcamlodipine.com\/?p=117919"},"modified":"2023-09-13T12:10:48","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T12:10:48","slug":"surfer-has-face-ripped-off-in-shark-attack-after-another-fights-off-killer-beast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogcamlodipine.com\/world-news\/surfer-has-face-ripped-off-in-shark-attack-after-another-fights-off-killer-beast\/","title":{"rendered":"Surfer has face ripped off in shark attack after another fights off killer beast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A surfer suffered horror facial injuries in a brutal shark attack while another fought off a killer beast during two separate attacks in just 24 hours on the same beach. <\/p>\n<p> Beachgoers in Florida, United States, watched on in horror after the double shark attacks unfolded right in front of their eyes. <\/p>\n<p>Bill Eveland was left with 25 stitches following his encounter with a huge beast coming off the back of a feeding frenzy, while another unnamed surfer had part of their face bitten by the ocean-going predators.<\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Family searching for lost son only found one &apos;shark-gnawed&apos; bone of 20-year-old<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Both attacks took place on New Smyrna Beach, with attacks in the area common, and there is a key reason surfers keep getting bitten according to one veteran of the waves.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30930306.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/2_Great-white-shark-turns-below-the-oceans-surface.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>An unnamed 38-year-old was left with nasty wounds to the face after a shark bit him around 8am in the area where Mr Eveland received nasty gashes just 24 hours before. <\/p>\n<p>Bill had been surfing with friends, who returned to shore after a day in the ocean, but the shark attack victim fancied just one more set, Fox reported. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking of his encounter, Bill said: &quot;When I came up from the wave is when the shark kind of hit a glancing blow to my lower right back, and I knew I&apos;d been hit.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I glanced to the right and I could see the back end of the shark coming off, like where my board [was] and enter back into the water.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, Bill survived his encounter but was left with a bloodied shirt, some nasty gashes to his back and 25 stitches. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30930313.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/2_Aerial-view-of-New-Smyrna-Beach.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30928983.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_MAIN-map.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Weather maps show exact time &apos;final hot spell of year&apos; will hit UK this weekend<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He added: &quot;I pushed my luck a little bit too far. I probably shouldn&apos;t have paddled out. I should&apos;ve paddled in after that last wave.
