The UK’s best beach has been crowned – but getting there represents a challenge for budding tourists.<\/p>\n
Par Beach\u00a0on St Martin’s, one of the Isles of Scilly, has been described as the UK’s answer to the Caribbean after being ranked as the best beach to visit in the country.<\/p>\n
Naming it the best beach in the country, The Telegraph’s Chris Leadbeater wrote: “I tripped over it during the pandemic, in that time when we were all meant to be discovering our own country.<\/p>\n
“And it did feel like a discovery, as I approached by water \u2013 and found myself staring besotted at this largely unadorned crescent, with its little jetty and handful of rowing boats.<\/p>\n
“Here was the social distancing we were meant to seek in the Covid days \u2013 but during my couple of hours next to that beach, the world\u2019s worries felt very far away.”<\/p>\n
READ MORE <\/strong> UK\u2019s most walkable seaside destination is \u2018lovely\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n But getting there from London can be a nightmare.\u00a0<\/p>\n Visitors will need to head to Penzance and take a boat from the harbour.<\/p>\n This would entail travelling for several hours on a Great Western Railway train, or an around six hour drive from the capital to the coastal town.<\/p>\n But the beach itself might just make it all worth it.<\/p>\n Par is known for its stunning natural beauty.<\/p>\n The island features pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and breathtaking coastal scenery.<\/p>\n The area\u00a0offers fantastic opportunities for beachcombing, swimming, snorkelling and wildlife spotting, reports MyLondon.<\/p>\n The beach has five stars from a handful of Google Reviews, with one person writing: “Stunning beach on a stunning Island.<\/p>\n “Crystal clear calm water perfect location to watch the seals, picnic and relax.
