Eating all the pies could soon become the key to losing weight.<\/p>\n
Modern Bakers, who came up with the world\u2019s first healthy bread, have been given \u00a3450,000 of Government cash to do the same thing with pastry and other ultra-processed foods. Co-founder Melissa Sharp said: "Bread was just the beginning. Receiving our sixth grant in a row from Innovate UK (the UK\u2019s National Innovation Agency) is tremendously encouraging."<\/p>\n
She added she and co-founder Leo Campbell hoped to help create \u201ca new era of mass-produced foods that are nutritious and have a net positive impact on wellbeing and the planet\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Superloaf founders are experts in re-engineering ultra-processed foods to make them good for you. Their bread, which is sold in Marks & Spencer stores, is lower in calories and carbs and is packed full of nutrients and fibre.<\/p>\n
They also hope to take on other ultra-processed foods such as breakfast cereals, pasta, ready meals and yoghurts. It is hoped it will help ease Britain\u2019s growing obesity epidemic, with current figures showing around 60% of the UK\u2019s calorie intake is from ultra-processed foods \u2013 the highest in Europe.<\/p>\n
It comes after an expert revealed beer could actually be good for you. They claimed that when drunk in moderation, beer can provide us with many health benefits from better gut health to stronger bones and less stress.<\/p>\n

The revelation came on National Beer Day (September 28). The benefits of beer are said to include:<\/p>\n
