This is the chilling moment the man charged with Tupac Shakur's murder confessed to his involvement.

Duane 'Keefe D' Davis has been charged by Las Vegas Police with the murder of the hip-hop icon after the fatal drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996.

Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo claimed Davis was the "on-ground, on-site commander" and "ordered the death" of one of the biggest names in hip hop at the time.

Davis was part of the Crips gang who were fierce enemies of Pac's Bloods. He was in the Cadillac from which the gunfire erupted and is the "only living" suspect. Homicide Lt. Jason Johansson added that Davis was the "leader and shot caller" and was in the car at the time.

Shockingly, Davis had already publicly acknowledged he was inside the car when Tupac was shot in both his book and documentary appearances.

In Death Row Chronicles, he was filmed saying: “I was a Compton kingpin, drug dealer, I’m the only one alive who can really tell you the story about the Tupac killing.

“People have been pursuing me for 20 years, I’m coming out now because I have cancer. And I have nothing else to lose. All I care about now is the truth.”

Before the fatal shooting, Davis' nephew Orlando Anderson was beaten up by Pac, Suge Knight and other associates at MGM Grand.

As revenge, they went looking for the rapper at the 662 Club in Las Vegas where he was due to perform that night.

Their Cadillac was being driven by Terrence ’T-Brown’ Brown with DeAndre ‘Dre’ Smith sitting behind, Davis in the front passenger seat and Anderson sat behind him.

“I seen Orlando and that pull up in the Cadillac and I told my homies ‘Southside is here’,” Club 662 security guard James McDonald says in the Death Row Chronicles.

“All my homies at 662 pat their guns, we knew there was going to be something.” But Tupac failed to turn up at the time and Davis' crew got bored waiting.

Instead, they decided to buy booze until they spotted women screaming “Tupac” on the Vegas strip. “All the chicks was like ‘Tupac’, and he was like ‘hey’ like a celebrity, like he was in a parade,” said Keefe D on camera.

“If he wouldn’t even have been out the window we would have never have seen him.” According to Davis' camera confession they “bust a U-turn” and pulled up alongside Tupac’s vehicle which was being driven by Knight at traffic lights.

When pressed in Death Row Chronicles, Keefe D refuses on camera to disclose who pulled the trigger and shot Tupac. “Going to keep it for the code of the streets,” said Keefe D. “It just came from the backseat bro."

Sheriff Kevin McMahill, who was involved in the investigation that led to Davis being charged, said today (September 29) that for "27 years, the family of Tupac Shakur has waited for justice".

He added: "It has taken countless hours, really decades, of work by homicide section to get to where we are today. Some people did not believe that the murder of Tupac Shakur was important to this police department, that was not the case back then and that is not the case today.
