The home where Adolf Hitler was born is finally being converted in a bid to stop neo-Nazis journeying there.<\/p>\n
The Austrian government is turning the building in Braunau am Inn, on the country\u2019s border with Germany, into a police station.<\/p>\n
It hopes the project will deter vile Third Reich admirers from using the home as part of their pilgrimage site.<\/p>\n
On Monday, work started on the building, which will become the district police headquarters and a security academy facility where police officers will get human rights training.<\/p>\n
However, some critics have argued the decision shows a “total lack of historical contextualisation”.<\/p>\n
