And it\u2019s no surprise \u2013 the car that started the family SUV craze back in the 2000s is still an excellent choice today: spacious, well equipped, well made and great value.<\/p>\n<p>With deals like the one we\u2019ve uncovered at leasing.com, it\u2019s no surprise the car\u2019s so popular with buyers \u2013 you\u2019ll not get better value on any rival car with the Qashqai available at just \u00a3226 per month. That deal restricts you to 5,000 miles per year and if that\u2019s not enough for you, upping it to 8,000 miles per year only increases the monthly payment by another \u00a310, while the upfront payment rises from \u00a32,334 to \u00a32,423 \u2013 still a great deal in our book.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, with a leasing deal you\u2019re hooked in for the whole term \u2013 three years in this case \u2013 and you don\u2019t get an option to buy the car at the end. But opting for a PCP from your local Nissan dealer will cost you a whole lot more, in spite of Nissan throwing in a \u00a31,500 deposit contribution and doing a 6.99% APR interest rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/media.autoexpress.co.uk\/image\/private\/s--4zXg2Tzw--\/f_auto,t_related-embed-mobile@1\/v1690903105\/autoexpress\/2023\/07\/Best%20SUVs%20-%20August%202023%20header%20image.jpg\">Top 10 best SUVs to buy 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Playing with Nissan\u2019s finance calculator on the same car with a deposit of \u00a32,348 (plus \u00a31,500 from Nissan) over three years with a 6,000 mile-per-year limit means a monthly payment of \u00a3397 a month &#8211; \u00a3171 more than for the lease deal. Of course, with a PCP you can either hand the car back at the end of the term or buy it, but to do that you\u2019ll need to come up with a final payment of \u00a315,974.<\/p>\n<p>We reckon this model of Qashqai, with the 1.3-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine and manual gearbox is probably the sweet spot of the range. It\u2019s nicely equipped with an eight-inch infotainment screen with Apple and Android smartphone connectivity, air conditioning, a rear-view camera, Nissan\u2019s clever keyless i-Key system and 17-inch alloy wheels. And with that engine and gearbox combination, mid-40s mpg should be achievable.<\/p>\n<p>This version also avoids the CVT gearbox of other cars, which we\u2019re not a fan of, and the bigger wheels which can make the ride a bit bumpy. There\u2019s decent space inside although the boot isn&#x27;t the biggest in the class, while leasing the car for just three years means you\u2019re always in warranty should anything go wrong.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/media.autoexpress.co.uk\/image\/private\/s--wtNQn3o5--\/f_auto,t_related-embed-mobile@1\/v1689155601\/autoexpress\/2023\/07\/Best%20small%20SUVs%20-%20July%202023%20header.jpg\">Top 10 best small SUVs and crossover cars to buy 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Not that we\u2019d expect it to &#8211; the Qashqai has a good reputation for reliability and is well built. And although the name may not be British, this is very much a British car through and through; designed in Paddington in London, engineered in Cranfield in Bedfordshire and brilliantly built at Nissan\u2019s factory in Sunderland.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve seen the price of Qashqai deals go up and down, so act quickly to get one at this close to \u00a3200 a month. And as always, this is a great deal on a new car that we\u2019ve chosen independently and are happy to recommend.
