Britain has been blasted with an urgent eight-hour fog warning issued by the Met Office.<\/p>\n

Forecasters have released the yellow alert for six regions of the UK on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The areas affected are Wales, Yorkshire and Humber, the East of England, the West Midlands and East Midlands and the North West.<\/p>\n

The warning is in place from precisely 2.56am on October 25 – with fog finally expected to lift at around 11am.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson revealed predicted that fog, dense in places, is expected to lead to some disruption throughout the morning.<\/p>\n

Weather maps by another forecaster, WX Charts, show low levels of precipiation across the affected areas.<\/p>\n

Areas of fog are expected to continue to develop this morning becoming dense with visibility falling to below 100 m in places.<\/p>\n

This will lead to difficult driving conditions, slower journey times and some disruption.<\/p>\n

The fog will slowly clear after sunrise but may take until late morning to do so in a few locations.<\/p>\n

Delays to bus and train journeys are expected, while an amber weather warning has been dealt to London and the south east of England.<\/p>\n

The Met Office forecast for today reads: “Rain in the south gradually clearing east through the day.<\/p>\n

“Cloudy with rain at times across Scotland and northeast England, with further rain arriving into the far southwest.<\/p>\n

“Bright elsewhere with some sunshine after the clearance of early morning fog.”<\/p>\n
