The brother of the young Israeli-German national whose body was paraded through the streets of Gaza by Hamas terrorists has spoken about his devastating loss.

Amit Louk, brother of Shani Louk, described the 22-year-old as a “pure angel” who loved tattoos and music.

The young tattoo artist was among the hundreds of casualties resulting from Hamas’ rampage in southern Israel on October 7.

The woman was attending the Nova music festival in Re’im when she was attacked by the terror group.

Her family realised she had been taken into the Gaza Strip after recognising her body in a graphic video circulating after the unprecedented assault, where she appeared to be unconscious but alive while being transported on the back of a pick-up truck.

In the harrowing clip, a terrorist held her by the hair while a second carried a rocket-propelled grenade.

Her family’s hope to see Ms Louk again came crashing down this week, when the Israeli military knocked on their door to communicate fragments of the young woman’s skull had been found at the site of the music festival.

As he recalled learning about the death of his sister, Mr Louk confessed he felt some relief. He told Sky News: “In so many ways, I feel to know this, to know she’s not suffering anymore.”

Paying tribute to Ms Louk, the grieving brother said: “She loved music. She loved tattoos. She was an artistic person by nature… In the way she was talking and the way she was moving. In the way she danced. There was no dark side, only pure angel.”

His family, the brother said, will remember the 22-year-old as full of joy, wisdom and kindness.

A video of Ms Louk taken before the massacre showed the young woman dancing at the festival alongside her friends.

At least 260 people were killed by Hamas at the music festival, and more than 1,400 Israelis and foreign nationals were slaughtered across Israel on October 7.
