Michael Gove has broken his silence after being mobbed by pro-Palestine protesters\u00a0yesterday.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet minister thanked police for helping him get “home safely” after he was targeted at Victoria Station in London on Saturday.<\/p>\n
He also thanked those who had sent him “kind messages” following the terrifying incident.<\/p>\n
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Mr Gove said: “I\u2019m very grateful for so many kind messages in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019d like to thank the police for their exemplary work getting me home safely yesterday.”<\/p>\n
Footage posted on social media showed the Levelling Up Secretary flanked by police as crowds surrounded him at the railway station on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The flag-waving protesters chanted “shame on you” as officers ordered them to “get back”.<\/p>\n
In another clip, Mr Gove was seen walking down a London street as demonstrators followed him and shouted.<\/p>\n
It came on a tense day as the pro-Palestine march went ahead of Armistice Day, with counter-protesters also turning out.<\/p>\n
The Met Police said officers made 145 arrests in total.<\/p>\n
Home Secretary Suella Braverman today condemned “violence and aggression” from protesters and counter-protesters on Armistice Day as police charged seven people over the disorder.<\/p>\n
