    This week marks 60 years since US President John F. Kennedy was shockingly assassinated while travelling in an open-top limousine.<\/p>\n

    Despite the conspiracy theories, the official verdict was that one man \u2013 Lee Harvey Oswald \u2013 was his killer, firing deadly shots from his rifle at Kennedy\u2019s motorcade while concealed in an overlooking book depository building in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n

    Th<\/span>e \u2018lone Gunman\u2019<\/h2>\n

    At 12.30pm on November 22, 1963, ex-US Marine Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots from a sixth-floor window at President Kennedy\u2019s car passed through Dallas\u2019 Dealey Plaza.<\/p>\n

    Two bullets are alleged to have hit Kennedy, killing him as he sat next to his wife Jackie.<\/p>\n

    Fleeing the scene Oswald, who had lived in the Soviet Union, also killed a local police officer who challenged him, before finally being arrested in a cinema.<\/p>\n

    The 24-year-old was himself shot dead at the local police HQ two days later by nightclub boss Jack Ruby. Oswald had claimed to be a \u2018patsy\u2019. However, despite multiple conspiracy theories, official investigations have pointed to him acting alone.<\/p>\n
