A high possibility of the UK being surrounded by giant walls of snow for around 66 hours is imminent before Christmas.<\/p>\n
Weather maps show 1cm to 2cm of snow falling over Scotland and Ireland from as early as December 20 as weather conditions turn freezing.<\/p>\n
Assessing the long-range weather forecast, the Met Office said: “It now looks probable that there will be at least one short-lived colder interlude next week, with a period of north or northwesterly winds that could bring some snow and ice, especially in the north.<\/p>\n
“From next week, high pressure will likely move further west into the central Atlantic, allowing a return to unsettled conditions and typically nearer average temperatures nationwide.”<\/p>\n
Weather maps show purple regions resembling giant snow walls set to engulf the UK.<\/p>\n
