Entry is free after a security scan.<\/p>\n<p><span>Archaeology for all<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Do not miss the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, which is one of the finest museums of ancient artefacts in Greece.<\/p>\n<p>The best \u00a37 you\u2019ll spend in the city (amth.gr).<\/p>\n<p><span>Take a boat ride<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s free to board one of the (slightly tacky) galleon-style ships along the promenade. Order plenty and indulge in superb tzatziki, fava (blended bean) dips, feta cheese with honey, roasted octopus, grilled pork belly in barbecue sauce and delicious grilled chicken. About \u00a325 for a feast.<\/p>\n<p>4 Katouni (loupino.gr).<\/p>\n<p><span>Nautiliaki<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wonderful seafood beside the Rotunda, a huge redbrick structure built by Roman Emperor Galerius. Tuck into meze of roe fish salad and anchovies<\/p>\n<p>8 Agios Georgios Rotunda (nautiliaki.gr).<\/p>\n<p><span>The Crossroad of Flavours<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This tiny, canteen-style corner cafe is an example of a magirio &#8211; a neighbourhood \u2018chef\u2019s kitchen\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Expect beef stew in wine sauce, meatball soup, chicken with peas, and spaghetti with prawns. No more than \u00a36.50 a dish. You eat on a ledge outside.<\/p>\n<p>14 Filippou (tostavrodromitongeuseon.gr).<\/p>\n<p><span>Kapani and Modiano markets<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This pair of markets are just south of Dikastirion Square.
