Moving abroad is usually a positive experience for expats who may find a better job opportunity, sunny weather or even love.<\/p>\n
However, while countries such as Spain and Mexico topped the list as the best places to be an expat, not every experience was so positive.<\/p>\n
While Kuwait was named the worst place in the world to be an expat, Norway topped the list in Europe.<\/p>\n
The beautiful Scandinavian country might be a popular tourist destination with stunning fjords and one of the world\u2019s longest coastlines, but the experience of living there left a lot to be desired for some.<\/p>\n
According to the InterNations Expat Insider Survey, more than three in five expats rated the cost of living negatively. Nearly 40 percent felt their disposable income wasn\u2019t enough to live a comfortable life.<\/p>\n

Expats can expect to pay around \u00a39 for a beer.<\/p>\n Expats also rated Norway poorly when it came to quality of life. Nearly 30 percent felt the country\u2019s public transport system wasn\u2019t good enough while around 15 percent felt they didn\u2019t have enough opportunity to travel.<\/p>\n Norway\u2019s culinary scene was slammed, ranking last in the country rating, with expats complaining there wasn\u2019t enough diversity.<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> Expats struggled to make friends with local residents and 32 percent said local people weren\u2019t friendly towards foreigners.<\/p>\n More than half said they found it hard to make local friends and nearly 40 percent were unhappy with their social life. Sadly, nearly 40 percent of expats said they didn\u2019t feel at home in Norway.<\/p>\n However, it wasn\u2019t all bad news. Expats loved Norway\u2019s strong economy and high job security.<\/p>\n
