We needed a worthy 4×4 for our road trips so we ended up buying a used Mitsubishi Pajero SFX.

80,000 Kms Update:
Completed 80,000 Kms with the 3507, it has been doing its duty satisfactorily be it for weekend OTRs, Road Trips or serving as a daily drive. Took it in for the 80,000 Kms service, and got the engine oil, gear oil, diesel and air filters replaced.
The front suspension was making noise while passing over bumps and potholes, turns out the right side bushing was the culprit hence, got the same replaced. Further, got the hubs at the front greased with ATF since they were not engaging properly, post service took it out for an OTR and found the same working as per requirement.
Below is the No. of Days taken to cover each 10,000 Kms interval:
Got a Snorkel installed in the Thar, bought it for Rs. 7800 from Amazon (JTI Make), escaped narrowly during a couple of OTR sessions while water wading hence, this addition was on the cards for long.
Next up is the tyre replacement, since, the stock duelers have done their duty satisfactorily till now, considering to now shift towards AT tyres.
Options being considered are as follows:
Goodyear Silent Trac Vs Maxxis Bravo 771 Vs MRF OWL AT Vs Ceat Czar
Not considering Duelers or Geolanders for now as I wish to try another brand this time.
Due to my current work profile and road tripping, had been using the Thar extensively, with the kid growing up and given the number of days we travel during road trips, both these factors coupled with my current usage of 3-4k kms a month propelled us to look out for a worthy 4×4 cruiser which could be used for road tripping and while my daily usage gets managed between the two cars.
After months of searching, ended up with a used Pajero SFX which I landed up finding at a dealer’s place nearby. Got the Pajero home last month, and since then during the last month, the Pajero has run for 2500 kms whereas Thar has taken a share of 900 km.
More on the SFX through a different thread, till then we are happily enjoying the ownership experience with Thar 700.
