The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a new roadster based on the same platform as the Super Meteor.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor, Continental GT and Super Meteor currently make up the brand’s 650cc range. The bike maker is now gearing up to add a fourth model to the line-up.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a new roadster based on the same platform as the Super Meteor. As per the type approval certificate, the Shotgun 650 measures 2,170 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 1,465 mm. The bike is 70 mm narrower, and the overall height is 50 mm shorter than the Super Meteor.
The Shotgun will be powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin engine producing 46.3 BHP @ 7,250 rpm. Peak torque is expected to be around 52 Nm, and the engine will be mated with a 6-speed gearbox.
In terms of design, the Shotgun 650 is likely to feature a circular LED headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and mid-mounted footpegs offering a sporty riding position. The bike will be equipped with an upside-down front fork, dual rear shock absorbers and dual exhausts.
