The inaugural race will be held at the fourth round of the Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship.
TVS has announced an electric one-make championship. The first race is scheduled for September 29, 2023. The company has also unveiled its all-new TVS Apache RTE electric race bike, which will compete in this series.
The TVS Apache RTE electric race bike features a carbon fibre fairing and rides on lightweight carbon wheels wrapped in Pirelli Super Corsa tyres. The battery case is also made from carbon fibre and is a stressed member of the chassis. The bike rides on Ohlins suspension and is equipped with Brembo brakes.
The Apache RTE race bike is powered by a mid-mounted liquid-cooled electric motor, which drives the rear wheel via a chain drive. While performance figures haven’t been revealed, TVS claims that the bike uses high-power cells with advanced chemistry and a custom Battery Management System with race-specific algorithms.
Eight riders will compete in the electric one-make series. The inaugural race will be held at the fourth round of the Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship.
