Even some of the world’s best tourist attractions have their critics.
Some will argue the Great Wall of China is, well, just a wall. The Pyramids aren’t quite as remote as some of the pictures would have you believe.
And not everyone is blown away by the UK’s own Stonehenge – seeing it as nothing more than a bunch of rocks.
But most would agree that they are all deserving of their places at the top of most travellers’ bucket lists.
Other tourist attractions, though, are more universally loathed.
And luggage storage network Stasher released a list of the world’s best-rated and worst-rated tourist attractions.
The team looked at Google reviews, quality of nearby accommodation, tourist safety and TikTok popularity.
While the Hungarian Parliament Building came out on top, a few tourist attractions scored less well.
Worst tourist attractions (Stasher)
- Hollywood Walk of Fame, USA
- Grand Bazaar, Turkey
- Taj Mahal, India
- Busch Gardens, USA
- Lotte World, South Korea
- Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong
- Ocean Park, Hong Kong
- Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, Japan
- Great Wall of China, China
- Everland, South Korea
Los Angeles’ Hollywood Walk of Fame was rated the worst tourist attraction in the world, with many tourists left disappointed.
The star studded spot had the lowest Google Review score and has even been described as unsafe.
A tourist ‘Sydney’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Hollywood is dirty but the Walk of Fame is next level.
“Smells like urine, trash everywhere, and looks nothing like the movies. Don’t waste your time walking, just drive by.”

Another tourist ‘Steven R’ said on Tripadvisor: “We didn’t feel particularly safe and that made a lot of the many bars and restaurants less welcoming to us.”
‘Kay R’ from Essex said: “The street was generally dirty and not at all the glitz and glam I expected. Saw so many stars in the pavement whose names I had never even heard of, not what I expected at all.”
However, a few tourists were more impressed by the Walk of Fame, with one describing it as “iconic”.
Turkey’s Grand Bazaar was rated the world’s second worst tourist attraction and fell down when it came to safety.
The shopping haven is one of Istanbul’s most popular tourist destinations but left many disappointed.
Despite being one of the world’s most iconic destinations, India’s Taj Mahal also failed to impress some tourists.
At the other end of the scale, Disneyland Paris and the Blue Lagoon in Iceland were among the world’s best attractions.
The ancient temple complex at Angkor Wat and Spain’s Plaza de Espana were also rated among the top five.
