A leading weather forecaster says Brits are facing at least two widespread snow events in the coming days.
Forecasts and weather maps indicate that the white stuff is coming next week, with the period leading up to Christmas Day set to be a chilly one.
Exacta Weather forecaster James Madden previously identified "in and around" December 20 as when "snow and cold weather" would make a return. His updated projections still suggest this will be the case.

"The current projections for snow are now starting to show this as a very high possibility from the early to middle part of next week and onwards, and although these projections will change somewhat between now and then in terms of exact details, what is becoming clear, is that the snow and cold will be returning within this exact period," he said earlier today (Tuesday, December 12).
Madden – who predicted the most recent snowy spell well in advance – added that there is now a "distinctly high possibility that we will see at least one to two notable/newsworthy wintry blasts" from next week. "[This] also means a higher prospect for snow on Christmas Day this year, particularly, across parts of the north and even to some much lower levels of the country too."
The northern half of the country looks to be the most likely to see the heavier snow, but Madden said "festive snow" cannot be ruled out for parts further south. He added: "The risk of a true white Christmas will still primarily remain with parts to the north of the country, but some subtle changes between now and then could literally see this whole outlook changing significantly between now and then to deliver the chance of more widespread snow within the 24 hours of Christmas Day."
The Met Office also reckons snow is likely from next week. Its forecast for December 17 to 26 states: "It now looks probable that there will be at least one short-lived colder interlude next week, with a period of north or northwesterly winds that could bring some snow and ice, especially in the north."
