A Chinese "force gun" which has been in the works in the Communist country could be "given to Vladimir Putin", an expert warned.
Reports coming out of China suggest research is underway into the thunderous creation.
Should it work, the impact could be devastating, as Professor Anthony Glees told the Daily Star of its capabilities, although "inventing" is not the country's strong suit.

Blueprints of the gun were produced and should they turn "enemy soldiers into zombies" as was suggested, the weaponry could be handed off to Russian despot Vladimir Putin.
Speaking to the Daily Star of the creation, Professor Glees said: "I'm glad to see our Chinese chums are still working on this horrifying bit of kit, rather than seeing they've actually made it work.
"On the battlefield it could in theory be devastating, turning enemy soldiers into zombies, no longer able to control their bodies or movement, even turning missiles round to destroy those launching them."
There is a silver lining to the potentially game-changing weaponry, and it is China may be pulling the wool over Western eyes.
It may not be in the stages of creation whatsoever, and Professor Glees believes reports of the weapon could be a tactical propaganda ploy.

He added: "Just think if Xi gave the technology to Putin! Luckily I think it is propaganda.
"The Chinese are good at copying but bad at inventing. Xi wants to give us the willies. I'll believe it only when I see it. On the other hand, you never know…"
The gun was previously likened to "The Force" from Star Wars in an article from InterestingEngineering, which claimed the magnetic force necessary for the gun is not yet available.
Associate researcher Zhang Yuanwen has claimed however the "design and experimental verification of a prototype is underway."
