Infamous drugs lord El Chapo's mother has died at the age of 94 after she was confined to a private clinic following a medical operation.
Consuelo Loera, 94, was confirmed dead yesterday (December 10) and a paid-for clinic in capital city Sinaloa confirmed the death. The drug runner's mother had resided there for 15 days prior to her death due to ill health.
She was believed to have been confined to the health centre due to respiratory problems after she never fully recovered from a Coronavirus diagnosis around two years prior. A further gallbladder operation was carried out 20 days before her death.

Consuelo's death was put down to natural causes though she had suffered from a number of health woes in the years leading up to her death, with medical experts keeping tabs on her medical history over the last few years.
El Chapo's mother had suffered from Sars-Cov-2 back in July 2021 and spent weeks resting at her private residence in the remote town of La Tuna. The property had been commissioned and built from the ground up by El Chapo.
Consuelo had made few public appearances over the last few years though made a notable appearance alongside President Andrés Manuel while he toured the country, causing unrest from opposition leaders, infobae reported.
She had frequently maintained her wish was to be reuinted with her son, Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, who currently resides in a US lockup for his part in the Sinaola Cartel.
His mother had frequently petitioned for the extradition of her son, who is spending life behind bars for his involvement with the drugs running arm of the Sinaola Cartel.
El Chapo was charged with a slate of crimes including money laundering, drug trafficking, kidnapping and murder, and was sentenced to life in prison with an eextra 30 years added.
He was also hit financially, with the 66-year-old told to forfeit more than $12.6billion (£10billion) at the time of his sentencing. El Chapo now resides in ADX Florence, the most secure supermax prison in Colorado, United States.
