Hezbollah dubs today day of rage against the enemy after Gaza strike

Israel: Mother of Hamas captive speaks after release of footage

Hundreds of Palestinians have reportedly been killed in an airstrike that struck a large hospital in Gaza according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, but while Hamas blamed Israel, the IDF has denied responsibility.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) of striking the Gazan hospital. He said, “The entire world should know: It was barbaric terrorists in Gaza that attacked the hospital in Gaza, and not the IDF.”

Now, however, Hezbollah — an Iran-backed movement based in Lebanon — has reportedly called for an “unprecedented day of anger” in response to this attack.

Hezbollah said in a statement: “Let tomorrow, Wednesday, be a day of rage against the enemy,” Hezbollah said in a statement while encouraging Muslims all over the world to “move immediately to streets and squares to express intense anger.”

In response to Hezbollah’s call, Al Arabiya reports hundreds have taken to the streets of Akwar outside the U.S. Embassy while chanting “death to America” and “death to Israel.”

At one point, the news publisher claims, authorities had to dispel the protestors with tear gas.

But that hasn’t stopped additional protests from cropping up, including in Sidon and Tyre — two prominent locations for Palestinian refugees to congregate.

Protestors have also been spotted covering their faces with Palestinian flags to protect themselves from inhaling the gas.

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has declared Wednesday (October 18) a national day of mourning in honor of the Palestinians who were killed at the hospital in an air strike.

Meanwhile, the IDF did not take responsibility for the attack on the hospital. In a statement, it said: “From an analysis of the IDF’s operational systems, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit.

“According to intelligence information, from several sources we have, the PIJ organization is responsible for the failed [rocket] fire that hit the hospital.”
